DeepView 66
The DeepView 66, currently in design and engineering by U.S. Submarines, Inc. will be the largest and most advanced tourist submarine ever created. Capable of diving to depths of 100 meters (328 ft.), the spacious and comfortable DeepView 66 provides spectacular "immersive" viewing.
The DeepView 66 has the widest pressure hull diameter in the industry and the greatest passenger capacity as well. At 32 meters in length and 160 tons the DeepView 66 will also the largest tourist submarine yet produced.
A smaller cousin to the DeepView 66 is the DeepView 20 and the submarine is also available in a 48-passenger capacity version. In 2008 we expect to build a 20-passenger version for a client in Egypt, and potentially begin construction on a 48-passenger version for operation off California.
Unique Design Characteristics
There are a number of unique characteristics inherent in the DeepView 66. Among them:
- largest battery capacity in the industry (660 kWH)
- extended endurance of 20 1- hour dives per day
- walk-in access through rear hemi (no ladders)
- comfortable deluxe armchairs for passengers
- sophisticated electronic control & monitoring system
- maintenance free hydraulic propulsion system
- hydraulics isolated in battery pods (low noise)
- powerful main & maneuvering thrusters (75, 38 & 22 kW)
- high efficiency CO-2 scrubber and airconditioner
